Not real practical fer trot'line'n but it's an all round good fish'n/hunt'n skiff, and comes in real handy fer them nights ya pull in about 3 or 400 pounds of cats! That front hold has had a lil over 400 pounds of cats in it before and it will hold a heck of alot more!!!!
Oh, and just so ya know the psychobilly name I got from my buddies, cuz I'm one crazy a$$ redneck.

08-03-2008, 01:30 AM
yeah I think, now don't quote me, but if memory serves me it turned out to be 150 lbs of fillets. Man that was in December. October through March is my favorite time to run lines. It's nice and kewl, and I head across th lake before daylight and deer hunt in the forest fer bout 4 hours then spend teh rest of the day on the lake fishing and then before dark, right back after the deer....

Well, my best friend has a twin brother and they had their Bday party planned. I was supposed to be there but I werk overseas and as luck would have it I was stuck here in Australia.... Mike said he had 1 quart bag left after they finished fry'n. It was a kick'n party too I was told! His brother got hammered, neighbors called the law cuz of the music too loud, and you know when a red neck says, "hold my beer!" yep Brian almost went ta jail. I recon they fed 35 or 40 adults and ain't no tell'n how many kids.
I use nut'n but Louisiana Fish Fry in teh Blue pack. A minner bag werks best fer batter'n em, you know, the big brim bags. Den big boys I cube up small, grease HOTT. I start at 400 and fry around 375. Course I add Tony's to one batch fer us around the fry pot.
What bout you, how ya'll kook ya'lls fish up yonder??? I'm always like try new things.

masterfisher3
08-07-2008, 04:37 AM
yeah the croaker we caught were very small so we headed and gutted em and picked meat off
very tasty fish
mithman100
08-07-2008, 05:53 AM
i cAught alot of little croaker when i was up at colonial beach camping but we didnt keep any though. also i heard any cats over like 10 pounds you shouldnt eat cause they can hold in more toxins when they get much bigger. So you can eat blue cats bigger then that without getting sick or what?
nimrod666
08-07-2008, 06:34 AM
Well I never heard that one about the toxins. I don't eat big cats because I like 1 to 2 lbs cooked whole in the broiler or the smoker. Salt, pepper, butter and a splash of lemon juice, fit for a king. I photo the big ones and release them. If they are fat they taste terrible anyway. Let them make more babies for my pleasure and table. Let me add before Fatboy jumps on me that I do all my fishing from lakes and ponds and not running water. I understand that big cats from running water taste better than those from stagnant water and are not as fat.:D

Well I never heard that one about the toxins.
Out here in wv, md, and va apparently there is alot of chemicals in the water. The wvdnr has warnings posted on their website about what is in the waters in wv and how much fish you should eat. Big fish hold more of the chemicals in their bodies from being in the water longer.
Here is the link to wvdnr consumption advisories. http://www.wvdnr.gov/fishing/Regs08/FISHregsConsumptionAdvise08web.pdf
masterfisher3
08-10-2008, 05:41 PM
hmm i've never heard of the toxins either
well i took the boat out today and got some nice bassranging from 2-3 1/2 pounds
sorry i couldn't get a video but it not the roomiest boat ever though next time we head out were bringing catfish bait for the biggins that live in there
also there were a bunch of perch on top of the water and some nice bass eatin em
newjersey_fisherman
08-10-2008, 08:24 PM
i have never herd of it but some fish naturaly contain mercury the metal and you are not suppost to eat the big ones
masterfisher3
08-10-2008, 09:40 PM
speaking of unedible
the bass i caught had worms so that whole pond(small lake) is bad
and the second one didnt have it but its the bacteria in the water meaning that alot of the stuff they eat has it or produces it
newjersey_fisherman
08-11-2008, 02:49 PM
about contaminated fish my grampa told be a story about a man who was fishing caught a pumpkin seed sunfish and got stuck by one of the fin spins long story short water was so dirty he lost his whole thumb from infection
masterfisher3
08-11-2008, 04:22 PM
yeah infections are bad in small ponds so always look for signs of disease
also if a high amount of hydrilla is in the pond then be specially careful because most high amounts of hydrilla can carry amounts of the bacteria that gives fish worms
newjersey_fisherman
08-11-2008, 05:43 PM
what is hydrilla
mithman100
08-11-2008, 07:05 PM
its like a bad weed but in water and its near impossible to get rid of. if you look in the video on my va catfishing 1 in the video forum the first cat that you see had this big cut / sore on the side of its body and you can see it. it was nasty. the fish were like braindead because of how bad the water is. when i put them back in they tried to swim into the rocks along the bank.
newjersey_fisherman
08-11-2008, 08:07 PM
i have looked it up and it is bad stuff very invasive but what does it do to the fish http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ab/Hydrilla_USGS.jpg
mithman100
08-12-2008, 02:49 AM
they said it harbors bacteria that can give the fish diseases
masterfisher3
08-12-2008, 03:31 AM
yes that and it is like an air stealer any amount of oxygen slowly goes down as the hydrilla grows.Moss on the other hand is not as fatal to fish because it is also not so outspread.Lastly small amounts of hydrilla are bad and should be removed as fast as possible by grabbing it and taking it out then getting a small shovel and digging some of the dirt under it to ensure it doesnt grow back.

I says let'n him go, I gots my picture.... he showed me how to clean em and it was over after that.
